Total PR intake by country in February 2022
The countries that contributed the most to PR admissions in February 2022 were primarily from Asia, with six of them ranking in the top ten.
The largest source country was India, accounting for 31.8% of all immigrants. China followed as the second-largest source country, representing 6.9% of immigrants for that month. The Philippines came in third, contributing 6.8% of all immigrants. Turkey, on the other hand, ranked 27th as a source country, with a mere 0.7% of immigrants in February 2022.

2. China - 2,560 (6.9%)
3. Philippines - 2,515 (6.8%)
4. Afghanistan - 1,635 (4.4%)
5. Nigeria - 1,165 (3.1%)
6. USA - 1,040 (2.8%)
7. Iran - 980 (2.6%)
8. Brazil - 855 (2.3%)
9. Pakistan - 825 (2.2%)
10. France - 775 (2.1%)
In February 2022 alone, Canada granted permanent residency to a total of 37,180 individuals. Throughout the year 2022, Canada welcomed a total of 72,510 foreign nationals as permanent residents.
