In February 2022, Ontario welcomed nearly half of all international students. 13,240 (52.5%) students were issued study permits in Ontario. British Columbia accepted 5,025 (19.9%) students, and Quebec accepted 3,055 (12.1%) study permits.

The distribution of study permits between provinces was as follows:

• Alberta – 1160 (4.6%)

• Manitoba – 765 (3.0%)

• Nova Scotia – 445 (1.8%)

• Saskatchewan – 380 (1.5%)

• New Brunswick – 225 (0.9%)

• Newfoundland and Labrador – 225 (0.9%)

• Prince Edward Island – 75 (0.3%)

• Yukon – <5 (0.0%)

• Northwest Territories – <5 (0.0%)

• Province/territory not specified – 640 (2.5%)

In February, Canada approved applications for 25,235 international students. Total IRCC

in 2022, 63,740 study permits were issued.
